8-22-07: Eric stole his 50th career Major League base.

8-10-07: Eric was activated from the bereavement list by Boston.

8-6-07: Eric was placed on the bereavement list by Boston.

5-9-07: Eric played in his 700th major league game.

4-19-07: Eric lost his 13 game hit streak (17-34) with an 0-2 against Toronto.

4-1-07: Eric ended spring training with a .186 average, 4 doubles, 1 homerun and 6 RBI in 17 games.

 

 

"We had a game in Tampa Bay (in 2002) where both of them (Lopez & Hinske) were sitting on the end of the bench, and they weren't very happy to not be in the game," Buck Martinez said. "I was clapping my hands and saying 'We need this one' and Hinske said: 'How come you got your best players on the bench, then?'"

"It's a dream come true," Eric said. "I would have never imagined going five for my first nine ... I finally have my chance in the big leagues and I'm like a kid in a candy store."
